Neal Martin, March 2025 The 2023 Chénas Au Bois Retour has a bright, well-defined nose with red cherry, blackcurrant leaf and light rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins that frame the fleshy red berry tones. I like the precision here. This is a carefully made Chénas that might develop more complexity in bottle. The 2023 is one to watch.

Neal Martin, March 2025 The 2023 Morgon Bellevue does not quite have the complexity or nuance as Passot's Chénas— this is a little smudged by comparison. The nose features scents of blueberry and violet. The palate is ripe and fleshy on the entry. This has gentle grip, although it needs more complexity on the finish.
